ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) ? The Kevin and Kobe show won it for the West at the NBA All-Star game, holding off LeBron James at the end.
They got an MVP and a scoring record, too.
Bryant scored 27 points, moving past Michael Jordan as the career scoring leader in the game, Kevin Durant had 36 in an MVP performance, and the Western Conference held on for a 152-149 victory over the East on Sunday night.
James and the East cut a 21-point deficit to one in the closing seconds, but weren't able to move in front. James had 36 points and fellow Heat star Dwyane Wade finished with a triple-double.
"With all these great players on the floor, you never know what will happen. Guys making big shots and they cut it down to one. We were up 18 (at halftime)," Durant said.
"It was fun. That's the type of All-Star game you want to see."
Blake Griffin scored 22 points for the West, which rang up 89 points in the first half, setting an All-Star record. But he won the game with his defense, picking off James' pass when the East had a chance to tie in the final seconds.
"I can't turn the ball over like that," James said. "I let my team down, but overall it was a great weekend."
Griffin then hit one free throw with 1.1 seconds left, and Wade was off on a 3-point attempt from the corner. He finished with 24 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, joining Jordan and James as the only players with All-Star game triple-doubles.
Durant was the MVP, leaving Bryant tied for the All-Star record with his four. But he got a bigger mark in his 13th All-Star game.
He broke Jordan's record of 262 points on a dunk with 4:57 left in the third quarter and now has 271 for his career. He entered with 244 and passed Oscar Robertson (246 points) and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (251) earlier in the game.
It nearly wasn't enough, as the East's comeback had the crowd filled with entertainers and athletes chanting for defense ? never a part of the All-Star game vocabulary ? in the final seconds.
With Bryant covering him, James hit two long 3-pointers in the final period, and the East had a chance when Bryant, with the crowd loudly booing, missed a free throw with 18 seconds left and the West up 151-149.
"Just being a competitor," James said. "They pretty much beat us up all game so we just wanted to make a game of it."
But New Jersey's Deron Williams was short on a 3-pointer, and after the East came up with it, James fired a pass into a crowd that Griffin intercepted.
On a colorful night in Orlando, from pregame performer Nicki Minaj's pink and green hair to the neon sneakers many of the stars wore, Dwight Howard had nine points and 10 rebounds as the game's host.
The NBA's first All-Star game in Orlando in 20 years wasn't close after 2? quarters. But players always say it gets competitive in the final five minutes, and James was again up for the challenge.
He hiked his scoring average to 25.9 points over his eight All-Star games, and someday he'll probably take the record Bryant set Sunday.
But he couldn't quite catch Kobe in the game.
With the 2-year-old Amway Center considered by many the finest arena in the league, the NBA brought its midseason showcase back to Orlando for the first time since the memorable 1992 game, when Magic Johnson was MVP three months after retiring from the league because of the HIV virus.
This one was once in jeopardy of being lost when the lockout lasted into late November. Without a settlement then, All-Star weekend may have been wiped out, as it was in 1999 following a work stoppage.
The party was saved.
James and Howard, wearing bright orange shoes, danced onto the stage for pregame introductions, Howard breaking into an enormous grin when fans gave him a thunderous ovation as the last All-Star introduced. He insists that he and Magic fans still have a love affair despite his trade request, understanding he still loves the city even if not his team, and urged everyone to ignore the trade talk for a weekend and have fun.
"We did it big for our city," he said in brief pregame remarks to the crowd before the game.
Then Andrew Bynum blocked his first shot attempt.
The speedy Russell Westbrook had the East looking like it was standing still late in the first half, and it was 88-69 at the break.
Howard and Derrick Rose ditched their orange sneakers in the second half ? James kept his ? and the East quickly got back into it, trimming 12 points off its deficit in less than 6 minutes. They even started to defend ? Wade whacked Bryant so hard on a drive that the Lakers star needed a break between free throws to wipe blood from his nose before sinking it to tie Jordan.
Williams scored 20 points for the East. Carmelo Anthony had 19, and Rose finished with 14.
Kevin Love, who won the 3-point contest on Saturday, scored 17 points for the West, which has won two in a row. Chris Paul had eight points and 12 assists.
NOTES: With Bryant, Bynum, Griffin and Paul, four West starters were from Los Angeles. Bynum played only 5? minutes after a having a procedure on his knee Friday. ... Johnson came onto the court for a standing ovation following the first quarter after highlights of his 1992 performance were shown. He was part of another 20-year anniversary acknowledgement in the third quarter, joined by Olympic Dream Team teammates Chris Mullin, Clyde Drexler, Scottie Pippen and David Robinson.

Ferment Del Norte
And with all the work that is possible because of TCE's interest in our community, there have been ancillary benefits to our community that go beyond all the great work that we see and do every day and are not as immediately apparent. ?When the work of BHC was initiated, it was necessary to identify and engage a number of young people to help enact all the work that had been planned and would continuously be carried out over the next ten years. ?All of a sudden there was a surprising number of young adults in our community doing positive work, both from within the community and from outside. ?Some were Americorps VISTAs from all over the country, some were homegrown Del Norters who were empowered to take an active role in the improvement of their community, maybe for the first time ever. ?TCE helped bring people together, and helped steer our collective consciousness and conversation toward healthy food, creativity, and community action.
Before this influx, it may have been difficult for a group of friends to enact an idea about a club focused around fermentation. ?And a club focused around fermentation that doesn't?emphasize drinking alcohol, but instead seeks to emphasize the health benefits of fermentation, culturally, physically, and spiritually?? ?Let's just say that club may never have gotten legs. ?However, as it is, that's exactly what happened. ?Only two months ago, I was eating some fresh-caught local crab with two good friends, Tasha Sparks and Aaron Valley, when the conversation quickly turned toward the homemade mead we were drinking. ?We were intrigued by a story about where the term "honeymoon" came from and how fermented beverages have played a role in cultural histories. ?In our own histories, we all had some connection to fermentation. ?I have been brewing beer since high school in small batches; Tasha worked in an educational kitchen in Berkeley where she learned how to make fermented foods; Aaron started brewing years earlier and became and avid and productive home-brewer in college. ?We all had experience and appreciated the way fermented foods and beverages bring people together, and fermentation is an almost endless source of new knowledge when it comes to learning about the process. ?Why not take advantage of this demographic shift toward impassioned 20-somethings and get people together to expand our collective knowledge and production of fermented goods? ?Next thing we knew, we had the idea to create a club.
After the initial inception of the idea for a club, we spread the word to our friends and people we thought might be interested. ?It started with a Facebook group which quickly swelled to about 15 members who joined just on the strength of the idea, and possible interest in belonging to a group that would be making its own beer. ?But from the get-go, alcohol was not the focus of the group, and in talking to more and more people about the idea, conversations became more about the potential for a group like this to experiment and create foods together, foods that might not be readily available in a place like Del Norte. ?I can't speak for the other founding members, but at those early stages I wondered how far this idea would really go, and whether it would really keep people's interest consistently enough to produce some great food and drink.
I have yet to be anything but impressed by the pure enthusiasm and support the club has gotten. ?We had our first meeting in mid-January, fairly well-attended by about 15 people, and everyone embraced the idea and was eager to propose ideas for projects and sign up to carry those projects out. ?At that first meeting, we created a sort of loose structure around how the club would be organized and continue: ?We would have monthly meetings on the full moon where we would get together in the evening to talk about fermentation, share things we've learned, suggest ideas for projects, talk about methods for fermentation we've used in the past; these would be our "theory" meetings. ?And at our theory meetings would be the time to propose new projects, and between full moon meetings, the club would break up into smaller groups to carry out those projects and create food and drink; those would be the "practice." Each project would have a project leader who would be responsible for organizing interested club members, finding a location, procuring ingredients, and making sure the project was recorded and reported on the group's website. ?Whatever was created would be brought to the next full moon meeting to be shared and consumed with the group, if it was ready.
The club hit the ground running with projects. ?Since that first meeting, we have made 2 homebrewed beers, beet kvass, sourdough, kimchi, ginger champagne, apple cider vinegar, root beer, kefir, and sauerkraut. What's more impressive than the number of goods we've created is the support we've generated. ?It seems like 80% of my non-work conversations are about Ferment Del Norte (and maybe 5% of the time it comes up at work). ?It has generated a fantastic article in The Triplicate, 40 members on the Facebook group, and over 1,000 views on our website (fermentdelnorte.com). ?And it has also generated interest among the people in our community who specifically work in food production and policy. ?The club counts among its members four local organic farmers and two members of our Community Food Council. ?As I mentioned, TCE helped make healthy foods a topic in our county-wide conversation amongst all demographics, and Ferment Del Norte is providing a venue ?for the conversation to continue in a social setting; both are helping instigate positive, creative action.

HTC One X hands-on at MWC 2012 (video)
First impressions? In a nutshell, we're blown away. It feels wonderful to hold in our hand, it's got the full suite of specs we like to see, the camera's as quick as HTC claims, and the device flies -- in fact, we'd be amiss not to mention the fact that the vendor's ICS-backed Sense UI is much lighter than any of its predecessors and doesn't bog down the performance at all. And keep in mind that this is in all likelihood still running on pre-production firmware. Impressive, to say the least. Our only beef with the device is the lack of a physical shutter button, especially given the firm's commitment to providing stellar camera performance. We're not ready to crown the One X as the best of the show yet -- we have four days' worth of MWC left, after all -- but it's one device we'll be returning to spend more quality time with on the show floor. If you want to share in the enjoyment, head to the gallery below, or the video after the break.

Which Vehicle Procurment Option to Select? ? Submit Free Articles
There are lots of car renting options you can come across and it is sometimes difficult to choose the right 1. You need to do enough research to find out which vehicle leasing option suits your type of work, business or personal conditions.
Contract Employ
Contract hire, contract purchase, leaseback and finance lease would be the main kinds of car leasing possibilities. Contract employ is a type of long term rental arrangement which can be opted for by people and personal users. This kind of car renting is suitable best for individuals who prefer to pay small obligations initially each month, there is no risk associated with depreciation or the issue of getting rid of the vehicle, for the consumer.
It may be the finance company which supplies the contract hire support, it buys the vehicle, takes on the risk of any feasible depreciation or loss and takes the duty of disposing of the vehicle at the conclusion of the term of the contract. The agreement is in between 2 as well as 5 many years, and the client has to consider a credit check. So you have to be reasonably confident that your credit file is up to scratch. Every customer can have a customized contract to suit his individual needs and VAT authorized business can claim half the VAT charges. Vehicles with regard to pure business use can claim all the VAT charges. Monthly rentals may also be offset along with profits that are taxable.
Contract Buy
Contract buy is a kind of car leasing chosen by companies or organizations. They employ expensive vehicles and desire to be given the option of possibly handing within the car at the end of the word of the contract, or to buy the car at the conclusion of the time. In this form of car renting, the vehicle is shown as an asset in the account books of the business. At the end of the term of agreement, the business can buy the car with a balloon amount and declare ownership from the car, or it can return the car and use for a brand new contract with regard to another vehicle.
Leaseback
Leaseback is a form of car leasing and it is used through businesses. Companies which desire to free the administrative centre generated from the sale of the vehicle from market value to some finance company, generally use for this sort of contract.
Finance Lease
Finance rent is a type of commercial leasing and it is utilized by businesses which rent out a vehicle for a fixed time Car Leasing Deals period, from a finance organization that owns the vehicle. The client needs to pay monthly payments with interest and this covers the costs. When a finance rent is used, the organization which goes in for the actual contract, has to cover the price of insurance coverage, taxes as well as services. Finance leases could be conditional sales, or a kind of hire buy. Depreciation as well as resale risks may be borne through the customer. All this should be examined before deciding on the correct alternative for yourself or your organization.

Super PACs To Release January Financials
WASHINGTON -- A "super" political action committee supporting Republican Mitt Romney for president doubled its average fundraising haul last month, drawing upon repeat donations from wealthy business executives, according to financial reports the campaigns filed Monday with the government.
The group, Restore Our Future, raised $6.6 million in January, and had more than $16 million available at the end of the month. That financial strength allowed it to flood the airwaves in key primary states with millions of dollars in TV ads hammering Romney's opponents for the GOP presidential nomination.
Restore our Future, other groups supporting other candidates and the individual campaigns were required to disclose how much they raised and the identities of their donors in reports filed with the Federal Election Commission by midnight Monday.
The reports offer a periodic behind-the-scenes glimpse into the identities of the wealthy supporters who will help elect the next president, along with details on how the tens of millions of dollars they donated have been spent this election season.
They provided a snapshot of fundraising for President Barack Obama's early campaign and for Republican candidates as they battled during important primary elections in January. During the month, GOP candidates Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum had briefly surged ahead of front-runner Mitt Romney but trailed the former Massachusetts governor in fundraising. Since then, Santorum has climbed remarkably in polls as support eroded just as stunningly for Gingrich following his disappointing showing in Florida.
Restore Our Future has been a boon for Romney, who has benefited greatly from the group's TV ads attacking Gingrich in particular. Such ads were purchased thanks to the financial help of repeat donors, including Marriott International Chairman J.W. Marriott Jr., who has given the super PAC $750,000 to date.
The super PAC also reported new donors, including Hewlett-Packard CEO Meg Whitman. Romney mentored Whitman, recently an unsuccessful candidate for California governor, during the 1980s at Boston-based Bain & Co., the private equity firm Romney headed. Whitman's $100,000 check to Restore Our Future came days after she joined Romney at a celebration of his victory in the New Hampshire primary.
Restore Our Future counted on continued support from at least 30 repeat donors who have given millions of dollars, according to a review of the reports by The Associated Press. It spent nearly $14 million in January.
Other GOP-leaning super PACs reported major contributions.
Endorse Liberty, the group supporting Texas Rep. Ron Paul, reported roughly $2.4 million in donations, including $1.7 from the billionaire founder of PayPal, Peter Thiel of San Francisco. Thiel, who runs a hedge fund, is a libertarian who has supported Republican causes and candidates and also has donated to California's marijuana legalization ballot measure.
Obama's campaign last Friday reported raising a combined $29.1 million in January among the campaign, the Democratic National Committee and other joint fundraising committees. The major super PAC backing Obama, Priorities USA Action, has yet to file its January report.
The reports likely will rekindle criticism of the groups, which were made possible under a 2010 Supreme Court ruling in the Citizens United case. The super PACs must legally remain independent from the candidates they support, but many are staffed with former campaign aides who have intimate knowledge of the campaigns' strategies.
Late Friday, the Supreme Court put on hold a Montana case that bore striking similarities. Two justices said the newest case provides an opportunity for the court to reconsider whether the millions of dollars that millionaires and billionaires have poured into the presidential election should be allowed to continue.

Small Business Marketing ? 5 Tips For Higher Sales
Most small business marketing is done without understanding it.
Unfortunate, but the truth, nevertheless.
If business owners aren?t active copying each other (not knowing the copiers are themselves being copied by the ones they?re copying), then they?re trying to follow the example of the advertising strategies of the huge corporations, with their deep pockets and limitless budgets.
Regrettably, small businesses going down this route very swiftly find it doesn?t in fact work. Why? Because ?advertising? is just some amorphous black hole into which they pour money without any way of knowing what, if anything, is making them a profit.
But don?t despair. Because so long as you follow a small number of simple but very powerful rules, you ?ll very quickly find your marketing becomes profitable.
So, let?s take a look at 5 simple advertising tactics any small business can put to work making money, starting right now.
1. Direct Response Marketing.
Successful businesses take advantage of direct response advertising? marketing which deliberately goads the target into taking action instead of waving an obscure ?here we are ? come and spend some hard earned cash with us if you feel like it? message at the target market.
2. Measuring and testing
Successful businesses track all their advertising, from the humblest email to the most sophisticated direct mail or Adwords campaign.
In this way it becomes possible for them to find out exactly where the sales and hence the profits are coming from.
And by a procedure of improvement, they can take so-so adverts and transmute them into formidable marketing machines that pump out vast profits like clockwork, year in, year out.
3. Accountability. Canny business owners know every single advertising activity MUST carry its own weight.
No guessing games. It all comes down to the numbers.
If an advert isn?t turning a profit, it?s cut from the campaign, in a flash.
4. No such thing as failure.
When an ad doesn?t make a profit, your typical business owner falls into despair and feels he or she has failed.
Smart marketers don?t do this. They understand it?s a numbers game, and by creating an advertisement which didn?t work, they?ve found out a lesson worth learning: one more way NOT to write an advertisement for that product or service in that market. The key is to let your emotional attachment to results drop away and be more objective.
5. Every piece MUST have one (and ONLY one) offer
Successful marketers understand every single advertising piece they out out there must have one (and only one) clear and unambiguous offer in it.
And for maximum effect, it needs to be restricted either by time or quantity, or other criterion restricting its availability. We humans are hard-wired to want what we can?t have ? the ?scarcity? principle. It works.
I promise, if you pay attention to these five simple strategies you?ll get an immediate boost to your profits.

The list is so long that I thought I might need one of those medical step stools to read it all. Shock, bromine, ph meter, soda ash, and clarifier make for lots of work and crystal water. BUT where are the fun things like the lounge, tube, raft, and pool toys that grammies and grampies have so grand babies can have fun, fun, fun?

Tramaine, a native of Prince George?s County, MD, developed a love and passion for the performing arts at the age of 12 by getting involved in numerous local productions. It was during this time that Tramaine realized that she wanted to be involved in the performing arts in a greater capacity.
After graduating from the University of Maryland College Park, Tramaine delved further into directing and producing. She fell in love with being behind the scenes and seeing her work on stage. Eventually, she became the director of a local drama team for three years. In 2007, she decided to go back to school and obtain her graduate degree with the hopes of beginning a production company in her hometown. Tramaine wanted to widen her network and develop the appropriate tools to successfully run her own company. In 2009, Tramaine graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a Masters of Arts Management and then founded MaineDrama Productions, LLC.
Tramaine had a vision to start a company that would produce works by emerging playwrights. She wanted to see works of art that would challenge audiences? perspectives, spark conversations about real issues, and push the envelope about taboo topics. Not wanting to compromise her values as a playwright, yet still grab the attention of viewers, Tramaine started MaineDrama as an answer to that call. It was her vision to capture the attention of diverse audiences while staying true to her visionary aspirations: Mainstream without compromise.
In 2010, she produced her first full-length stage play, Count It All Joy, under the company name. After this production, MaineDrama embarked upon its first film entitled, Unheard. Partnering with *BPC Films, Unheard follows the lives of numerous individuals and takes a look at the journey to healing after sexual abuse. Both companies were charged to make a difference and break the stereotypes about sexual abuse. Set to premiere in 2012, Unheard has generated increased awareness surrounding the topic and has begun to educate the community about the face of sexual abuse, especially in the aftermath.
Tramaine has a great love and appreciation for the theater and is realizing her dreams as a producer. She is also passionate about dealing in realism, seeing true portrayals of herself and the life around her. She operates under the philosophy that ?everyone?s life is a stage,? and she only wants to see that truly reflected on the stage in front of her.
*Cinematographer/Director of Photography Ashanti Young (27) and Director Jasmine Barber (26) joined together and founded BPC Films in 2010. The two have worked on a number of independent short films and a feature in the DMV area.

Audra?s love for music stems from her grandmother?s tapes and vinyl records of jazz classics such as: Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald. At the tender age of six, Audra received her first CD, Brandy?s self-titled debut album that sparked her interest to focus on a singing career. But seven years later, curiosity struck 13 year old Audra and with the support of her mother and three years of persistence, she performed on stage as Audra The Rapper.
As time progressed, Audra?s talent and natural ability to capture the attention of many allowed her to touch the stage with mainstream artists such as: Trey Songz, Jadakiss,
Latoya Luckett, Lloyd, Ray-J, MC Lyte and others. Then in December 2010, Audra was noticed by industry heavyweight Rick Ross and was endorsed and welcomed into the Maybach Music Group family.
To date, Audra, 22, not only holds a bachelor?s degree from Old Dominion University, she has been named Hellobeautiful and Ford?s Top 30 under 30, featured on BET, MTV, RocStyle, Vibe, Dr. Jay?s 2011 Summer Campaign, The Hennessy Remix Tour and recently presented by Rocawear and Artful Dodger as well as sponsored by The Source Magazine for her Sweet N? Sour Cyphers and named FunkMaster Flex?s Top 20 in 2012. But alongside her musical accolades, Audra?s influence goes beyond the stage. In 2007, she began ?The Audra M. Green Music for A Cause Foundation? in her hometown of Richmond, Virginia; an organization that focuses on HIV/AIDS education, youth violence and teen pregnancy prevention.
Determined to be heard, Audra?s sound and vision is brought to life with the help of many up and coming producers. With a universal sound, her image and style are unique being dubbed a hip/pop artist. Reminiscent of her icon Lauryn Hill, Audra is innovative, lyrical and entertaining as reflected on her two previous mixtapes and recent EP, No Such Thing Does Exist that features artist Nickelus F., Mickey Factz, Raheem Devaughn and a message from Rick Ross.
