Viking Bert, a serious contender in William Hill supporting Racing Post TV Stakes at Newcastle

Viking Bert recently took the winner?s prize, and would be aiming for the same in William Hill supporting Racing Post TV Stakes at Newcastle on Wednesday, November 14, 2012. Bearing the big hound?s wonderful track record in mind, one can easily expect him to accomplish this feat.

The black and white dog stepped up to the A2 level after proving his class at the lower grade on October 16th. He could not shine straight on his promotion, but wasted hardly any time to get back to the winning ways.

In an A2 meeting at the end of last month, D. Calvert?s impressed everyone by demonstrating a splendid show. After leaving the second box, he ran furiously. His hard work paid off near the finishing line, when he gained a decent lead.

There was no stopping thereafter. By maintaining the best standards throughout, the son of College Causeway easily claimed the top position by a length?s distance. Viking Bert failed to show his magic at the A1 level, and faced a couple of embarrassing defeats lately.

However, he is stepping down to this class with plenty of determination. A slightly weaker opposition coupled with a favourable draw; the 2-year-old has a lot going for him. So, only a level best effort is required to be dominant.

Others runners in the race are: Killer Heels, Fagans Rambler, Shiloh Dawn, Prosecutor and Lil Lark. The meeting is scheduled to get underway at 13:44 GMT. The ultimate winner will get a prize of 127 pounds.

Killer Heels should be thereabouts at the business end. The punters should show respect to her, despite the fact that she is coming off a couple of losses. The black bitch has done business at this level in the past, and will be a major player today.

Shiloh Dawn needs better luck after a few tough rides lately. Prosecutor will be looking to get off a swimmingly fast start. Lil Lark is likely to be priced up attractively, but this does not turn us on. Similarly, Fagans Rambler looks a touch vulnerable against this opposition. Good luck to all.
