JAKARTA, Indonesia ? Police say a small plane has crashed in Indonesia's eastern province of Papua, killing all three people on board, including the American pilot.
Lt. Col. Wachyono said the privately-chartered Pilatus aircraft went down Thursday while delivering logistical supplies from the town of Pagai to Wamena.
He said the bodies of the American pilot, identified as Paul Westlund, and two Papuans have been evacuated to the provincial capital, Jayapura.
It was the second air crash this month in the jungle-clad mountains of Papua, the country's most remote region geographically and politically.
Earlier, a Cessna 208-B Caravan crashed in neighboring Yahukimo district, killing two foreign pilots.
